It was a hot summer day. I was working with my regular gadgets in my backyard. While working with an electronic device, I suddenly received a shock, and as a result of it felt a bit dizzy. After retaining the feeling for a while, suddenly I got back to my senses, and naturally urged to reach my room, but IT WASN’T THERE. In fact the house wasn’t the same, what I saw there was an old shattered building, with very few things left of the original architecture. I rushed outside in the quest to realize what had happened? My fondness toward science fictions & movies told me that I was not in my time, but it must be past, not the future…….
Rushing outside to clear the situation disclosed a shocking surprise, it was year 2055 AD. But the scenario around was making mockery of the Jet Sons, Back to the Future and other such movies that predicted the future. That so called future was reflecting more of Flintstones. Thanks God the language was still the same, so I was somehow able to communicate to the people. But the third world war left deep, dark marks upon the world. But at least people didn’t need to worry about the exceeding population, because the population of the world was about 1.5 million only, but even that was an estimates, might be an over estimate as traveling to some other land wasn’t possible. My natural desires were there, yes I wanted to eat something, went to a place (off course I had to ask at least 50 people to reach the place), I was stunned to find that people were using “drinkable water” instead of money for shopping. The explosions in 2025 caused the global warming to its extreme so the drinkable water was a luxury, excess of which determined the status of person in society. The water carriers were the elite class and decision makers in the society. I saw few people shouting No blood for water like slogans on the street in front of the Elite Minister, who off course was the greatest holder of the water resources in the country.
Going through the shocking discovery of the so called future, I wanted to explore the reasons for that state of the world, and on my queries people sent me to “the wise person”. He was an old fellow, with beard on which only Albus Dumbledore of Harry Potter could be proud of, in the rags, wearing broken spectacles, and gave me a miserable laugh at my query about the repair. He told me that, it all started in the first decade, in order to implement the globalization and the aspiration to rule the world, the ruler of a state name ASU, tried to overtook the world. The venture turned out to be a successful one, in terms of achieving the lands, but what was left on the lands? The latest missile technology of the time caused the greatest massacre of all times, everything ruined, whether it people, buildings, rivers, you name it. While he was talking a question arose in my mind, what happens to ASU then, she should be ruling the planet then (whatever is left of it), his answer was very simple with a tickle he replies, who told you the technology was perfect, in the desert of ASU, a store of ammunition fired itself up on sensing the danger, and whole continent was not there on the surface of earth in a jiffy. He also told me that you cant find a single person who hasn’t got any skin ailment, because ozone layer is shattered even more and is about to be blasted completely. No books are left on the planet and it would take hell lot of time to rehabilitate to even, 1000 A.D. The worst thing was that even after al that human beings didn’t learn their lesson, as they used to fight frequently in order to gain water resources and food. He continued the story for hours and hours and not even a single word was there which could’ve let me write a single positive line about the future. And there is no need to tell you that after getting all the information I could’ve extracted out the wise fellow, I found myself sitting right there in my backyard, with the calendar still showing the year 2010. I really wish the dream, or hallucination whatever it was will not come true.
Einstein was right after all, the weapons of fourth world war would be similar to the pre-historic ammunition. Human being in order to achieve the status of omnipotent, are destroying the mean of their survival, the Earth..
